THRUMWATT / DATA CENTER OPERATIONS

A clearer sequence for power planning.

Start with saved meter readings. Review a rolling demand projection against the facility limit, then assess whether a tariff-aware load-shift estimate is supported by your saved operating inputs.

01 / ESTABLISH A BASELINE

Start with dated meter history.

Save cumulative meter values by date for the facility, either manually or through the meter CSV import. Thrumwatt uses valid changes between readings to summarize historical energy and derive average demand intervals.

Review the latest reading date and any excluded intervals. A decreasing cumulative value is treated as a possible meter reset and excluded from totals, so investigate the source record before relying on a comparison.

Check first

Reading dates, cumulative kWh values, freshness, and excluded decreases.

02 / REVIEW THE NEXT 24 HOURS

Read the projection as an average.

The facility forecast projects recent dated meter usage across a rolling 24-hour window. It reports projected energy and average demand using the recent valid history and the facility time zone.

Date-only readings do not show when demand occurred within the day. The projection is not an hourly load curve or a peak-demand forecast. It is unavailable when the latest history is stale or there are too few valid intervals.

Use for

A recent average-demand view beside the configured facility power limit.

03 / PUT DEMAND IN CONTEXT

Compare average demand with the saved limit.

Capacity headroom is calculated from a configured facility power limit and a valid average-demand value. The energy view compares the limit with the latest valid interval; the forecast view compares it with projected average demand and shows average headroom for that projection.

Treat these as average-demand comparisons, not a measure of instantaneous spare capacity, a peak forecast, or a guarantee that additional load can be connected.

Confirm

The configured limit and the time period represented by the demand value.

04 / ASSESS A POSSIBLE SHIFT

Compare tariff periods only when inputs align.

The load-shift view can return one conservative suggestion when a recent forecast, a registered controllable load and its permitted operating window, time-of-use rates, a valid currency, a demand-charge value, and a facility limit are available. It compares a higher-rate source period with a lower-rate period inside that load's permitted window.

The result shows estimated energy savings, demand-charge savings, bill impact, and projected capacity relief. Capacity relief is capped by saved average headroom. These are input-based estimates for operator review; they do not schedule or dispatch equipment. When no higher-rate source period and lower-rate permitted period overlap, the opportunity remains unavailable.

Keep in view

Results depend on saved tariff and load assumptions, not measured outcomes.

05 / SHARE THE CALCULATION BASIS

Download reports for facility review.

In the authenticated workspace, operators can download a facility energy PDF and a rolling 24-hour forecast PDF for a selected facility. Reports include the saved data and configured inputs used for their calculations, with unavailable values identified rather than filled in.

The public sample report is a static illustration of report fields and calculations. Its readings and results are examples, not a live facility record or customer outcome.
